Kumar Swami (born 21 January 1954), popularly known as Mahabrahmrishi Shri Kumar Swami Ji and called informally by his followers Gurudev, is an Indian spiritual and religious leader.^[1] He is a self-proclaimed scholar of classical Ayurveda,^[2] an Indian system of alternative medicine.

Kumar Swami is also the founder of the spiritual organization Bhagwan Shree Laxmi Narain Dham. He frequently travels to hold interfaith conventions both in India and internationally.

Early life

Kumar Swami was born on 21 January 1954 into a peasant family in Karanpur, Rajasthan.^[3] He did not earn the moniker Swami until later in life.

After his marriage, he claims to have sought a variety of learned Gurus, including Jiddu Krishnamurti, Osho, and Baba Hardev Singh, among others.^[3]
